Membership
The Working Party currently has 51 members, representing about 32 different countries around the globe.
Meetings and Teleconferences
The Chair and Secretary have had monthly Skype meetings to discuss ideas and plans.
Since March 21, regular newsletters were sent (up to now seven in total) to the members of our WP in order to keep in contact, inform them about WP related issues and news from science and practice.
In June 2023, we organized the first in person meeting in Gothenburg, after a series of online meetings. The meeting was well attended by approximately 25 people. We had three presentations about various topics, including the European Health Data Initiative, donor apps for communication and donor health and safety issues in Asia.
In January 2024, we organized an online meeting about plasma and the growing demand for plasma-derived medicines. Representatives of the European Blood Alliance (Executive Director Peter O’Leary) and the International Plasma Fractionation Association (Executive Director Leni von Bonsdorff) were providing interesting insights on the plasma topic in European.
We now also have a WhatsApp group (ISBT WPDD), after an initiative by RishiRaj Sinha, one of our active members.
Activities during the period
Several members of the WP have been very active in organizing and co-hosting an interactive workshop at the upcoming Barcelona meeting.
