Awards and Prizes presented in 2025
At the 2025 congresses of the ISBT, outstanding contributions to the field of transfusion medicine and science were recognized through a series of awards and prizes. Presentations to the awardees were made during the ISBT Congress in Milan, Italy and in Perth, Australia.
Vox Sanguinis Best Paper Prize 2024
The 2024 prize was presented in Milan to Philippe Vandekerckhove on behalf of the authors of the paper: Effects of plasmapheresis frequency on health status and exercise performance in men: A randomized controlled trial, Alexandre Mortier, Jina Khoudary, Sophie van Dooslaer de Ten Ryen, Camille Lannoy, Nicolas Benoit, Nancy Antoine, Sylvie Copine, Hans Van Remoortel, Philippe Vandekerckhove, Veerle Compernolle, Louise Deldicque
ISBT Award 2025
The ISBT Award is granted to persons who have made a significant contribution to transfusion medicine and science, particularly in education. The decision to grant the ISBT Award is the privilege of the ISBT Executive Board of Directors. Two ISBT Awards were presented in Milan, to Sandra Nance and Paolo Rubello, and a further two in Perth to Clive Seed, and to the SRI – ISBT Round-Up Team. This is the first time since 2014 that an ISBT award has been given to a team or organisation, and the Round-Up team was represented in Perth by Erica Wood and Allison Mo.
