From 1 to 3 October 2025, the Argentine Association of Haematology, Immunohaematology and Cellular Therapy (AAHITC) held the 20th Argentine Congress of Transfusion Medicine at the Marriott Hotel in Buenos Aires.
This year’s meeting marked a special milestone, as it commemorated its twentieth anniversary. The Congress of Transfusion Medicine organised by AAHITC has consistently been distinguished by the quality of its scientific content and the excellence of its speakers, both national and international. Among the latter were Ángel Pérez Calatayud (Mexico), José Levi (Brazil), Carla Dinardo (Brazil), Armando Cortés (Colombia), and Ana Lucía Cabezas (Colombia).
Opening ceremony
Across three days, the programme included workshops, symposia, lectures, and presentations of scientific papers. The scientific agenda addressed topics of particular relevance to specialists, such as quality management, the application of cellular therapy, transfusion safety, the management of patients with haematological conditions, the promotion of voluntary blood donation, and innovation through the use of artificial intelligence in medical practice.

AAHITC remains committed to excellence. In line with its objective of continuous improvement, a satisfaction survey was implemented on this occasion as a quality tool. The survey was distributed among participants after the event and was optional, prior to downloading the certificate of attendance or participation. More than 600 accredited professionals completed the survey, providing valuable input regarding the organisation, the venue, the quality of the scientific content, and opportunities for improvement. The 20th edition of the Argentine Congress of Transfusion Medicine was a success, both in terms of attendance and outcomes. Once again, it fulfilled the mission of AAHITC, which for more than half a century has sought to contribute to the advancement of transfusion medicine and cellular therapy throughout Argentina.

Apply for ISBT Academy Support, which is available for educational activities, the use of the ISBT logo and the ISBT endorsement of an existing educational course.
- Applications from countries in the Low, Lower Middle or Upper Middle World Bank Index categories are eligible
- Organisations from High Income Countries can only request financial support if it is intended to support the attendance of a participant from an eligible country, or if the HIC is hosting an educational activity in an eligible host country.
Each organization can only submit one application for financial support in a given year and can request to use the ISBT logo as many times as required.
