Non-DEHP blood bag system for red blood cell storage
Date: 10 December 2025
Speakers: Geraldine Walsh, Christie Vermeulen
Aim of the webinar:
The speakers discussed the in vitro quality of red blood cells stored in non-DEHP blood bags and shared practical experience with the use of non-DEHP blood bag systems. Clinical efficacy and hemovigilance data was used to improve the understanding of red blood cell membrane behavior in the absence of DEHP. The speakers explored how in vitro findings translate to in vivo outcomes. Attendees gained practical insights to support informed planning for the transition to non-DEHP systems.
