The Sunday night beach gathering was an absolute social highlight, offering a refreshing mix of fun and friendly competition. Held in the picturesque open air of Barcelona, this event allowed participants to socialize in an informal atmosphere, discussing their local experience in the field of transfusion. The beautiful fireworks on the beach on the occasion of the local celebration of Saint Juan and the equinox contributed to a fun atmosphere. The combination of activities and fellowship between the participants made for an unforgettable afternoon. It was the perfect way to relax and build strong bonds with peers in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

The record-breaking young professionals’ breakfast was the perfect way to kickstart Tuesday morning. Set in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, it was a wonderful opportunity for 80 participants to network and connect with experienced mentors. The casual conversations over a delicious breakfast helped to build rapport and set the stage for deeper connections throughout the event. The insights shared by the valued mentors in an informal setting were particularly valuable and motivating.

Legendary Leadership Workshop
The Judith Chapman leadership workshop was a transformative experience and held place right after the YPs breakfast. Judith Chapman, a renowned expert in leadership development, led an interactive session that was both insightful and empowering. 35 participants engaged in practical exercises designed to enhance their leadership skills and boost their confidence. This workshop provided valuable tools and strategies for effective leadership, leaving attendees inspired and equipped to lead with confidence and vision.

Innovations in Action - SRI Workshop on “How to review an article.”
The systemic review initiative (SRI) workshop in collaboration with ISBT was an electrifying start to the engagement activities for young professionals at ISBT in Barcelona and it took place on Tuesday afternoon. Based on the current dynamicity of changing practices in transfusion among children and neonates it is particularly important to critically appraise the research evidence which should be translated in to practice. Understanding the importance of this the workshop was organized on “How to review an article.” The participants had the opportunity to collaborate with transfusion experts and peers on challenges of evidence synthesis and critically appraise them in the field of pediatric transfusion, fostering creativity and innovation. The interactive sessions and dynamic discussions were both inspiring and educational, providing valuable insights into career progression as a clinical researcher or an academic.
