From the Central Office
Introducing Lara Kizilgunesler
Karin van den Berg
Here at the Central Office in Amsterdam, we are delighted to welcome our new Digital Platform and Content Manager, Lara Kizilgunesler, who joined us at the beginning of September. In today’s fast-paced world, staying connected with all our ISBT communities require dedicated effort to maintain our various digital communication platforms and the content we make available to the public. To this end, we realised we needed a young, vibrant person to help us to not just maintain but to innovate the way in which we connect with the world. And Lara is just the person for this job. So allow me to let Lara introduce herself in her own words:
Hello everyone! My name is Lara. I’m 26 years old, and I was born and raised in Izmir, Turkey. In my free time, I enjoy travelling, going to pilates, discovering new places, and spending quality time with my friends. I love experiencing different cultures, meeting new people, and being open to new experiences. I completed my high school education at the American Collegiate Institute in Izmir. After graduating, I decided to move to Amsterdam to continue my education and experience living in a different country. I started my academic journey at the University of Amsterdam, where I studied Communication Science. During my bachelor’s degree, I became increasingly interested in the digital world and discovered my passion for digital marketing. This encouraged me to continue my studies at the University of Amsterdam, where I completed a Master’s degree in Business Administration, specialising in Digital Marketing.

Moving to Amsterdam was a big step for me, both academically and personally. Over the years, I’ve grown to really appreciate the city and everything it has to offer. I especially enjoy its international atmosphere and the energy of the city. During my time in Amsterdam, I built meaningful friendships, discovered new interests, and found a lifestyle that I really enjoy. After completing my studies, I decided that I wanted to continue building my life and career here.

I started exploring career opportunities that matched my interests and educational background, particularly in digital marketing, communication, content, and digital platforms. This journey eventually led me to my current role at ISBT, where I work as a Digital Platform and Content Manager. I’m very happy to be part of the team and excited about the opportunity to contribute and continue developing in my role. I would describe myself as curious, open-minded, and people-oriented. I enjoy learning new things, taking on new challenges, and connecting with the people around me. In my role at ISBT, I’ll be the person sending you emails with various updates from the Central Office. I’ll also be coordinating the different issues of Transfusion Today, taking care of the ISBT app, and keeping you informed about any updates or changes to the website. I’m excited to take on these responsibilities and to start this new chapter with the ISBT team!
