Aim of the LJC:
To assess PBM programs globally, concentrating on current initiatives, team members, achievements, and barriers encountered during implementation. Aim of the webinar:
To provide a broad overview of the latest evidence on treatment of COVID-19 patients with convalescent plasma, with a special focus on specific patient groups and areas with lower resources. Avoidable transfusions- Insights from SHOT

Aim of the webinar:
The webinar will provide an overview of avoidable transfusions reported to Serious Hazards of Transfusion (SHOT), the UK haemovigilance scheme which has been in operation since 1996. Recurring themes from reports analysed will be discussed, useful resources signposted, and key safety messages will be highlighted. Strategies to address gaps in practices and enhance patient safety will be explored. While the discussions be focused on the data from UK, the key principles of effective patient blood management and improving practices to ensure optimal use of blood is relevant to all transfusion staff from around the world.
