Rada Grubovic Rastvorceva
Rada is Scientific Program Manager at European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines and HealthCare (EDQM) at the Council of Europe, Strasbourg, France and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Goce Delcev University, Stip, North Macedonia.
Donors and Donation
Rachel Thorpe
Rachel is a social scientist who has worked in donor research since 2017. Rachel designs and leads research to create and deliver evidence-based practices to maintain the health and wellbeing of blood donors and ensure the continued supply of blood products. A key focus of her current research is how to increase participation in blood donation by people with diverse social characteristics, including older people and ethnic minority groups.

Nicole Thornton
Nicole is the Head of the International Blood Group Reference Laboratory (IBGRL) Red Cell Reference (RCR) department and the NHSBT National Frozen Blood Bank facility. She maintains RCR as a national and international tertiary reference centre for identification of blood group antigens and antibodies. She also coordinates the compilation and maintenance of the International Rare Donor Panel and advises on rare donor availability worldwide.

Nigar Ertuğrul Örüç
Nigar is the Medical Director of the Blood Transfusion Center and Haemovigilance Coordinator of Health Sciences University Dışkapı Yıldırım Bayazıt Training and Research Hospital in Ankara since 1998. She is a specialist in infectious diseases and clinical microbiology with 40 years of professional working experience including 24 years in blood banking and transfusion medicine.
